Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information unscrbl ("we", "us") does and doesn't collect when you use unscrbl.com, and the choices you have. The short version: the tool itself collects nothing — the only data practices on this site come from advertising.
The unscrambler runs on your device
The word unscrambler works entirely in your browser. The dictionary loads as part of the page, and all searching happens locally on your device. The letters you type are never sent to our servers — we have no record of what you look up, because the lookup never leaves your browser.
We don't require accounts, don't ask for your name or email to use the tool, and don't run our own analytics scripts.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
unscrbl is free and supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and — where you've consented or where permitted — to personalize them based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Depending on your region (e.g. EEA/UK), you may see a consent message letting you choose whether ads are personalized; you can change that choice at any time via the consent prompt.
Cookies
We don't set cookies for the tool's functionality. Cookies present on this site come from the advertising described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the unscrambler works fine without them.
Local storage & offline support
The site may use your browser's cache/service worker so it loads fast and works offline. That data lives on your device, is not personal information, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Children's privacy
The site is a general-audience word tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, forms or chat features.
Links to other sites
Our guides may link to external sites. Their privacy practices are their own — this policy covers only unscrbl.com.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change (for example, if we ever add analytics), we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
